The reincarnation of the Artisan Cask, a 50cl bottling produced back in the early 2000's, the Astar was supposed to have been the first Private Edition. However, although it wasn't officially named as one, this was the bottling that started that iconic series. Matured in American white oak casks, and bottled at natural Cask strength, the Astar is a big, bold full bodied whisky with loads of spice, tropical fruits and creamy vanilla notes. Now very hard to find, if you can bear not to open it the Astar is a great one for the collection.
