Oldenberg, Cabernet Franc 2018

This gorgeous Cabernet Franc has a rich garnet colour and the nose offers fresh herbal notes such as green bell pepper and paprika. The palate comes to life with vibrant redcurrants and pomegranate. The first thing that always comes to us is the stunning purity and ‘cleanness’ of the wine - it is about as pure as red wine gets. To complete the wine, great acidity and silky smooth tannins mean this is an absolute delight to taste with every sip.

This is our go to wine when we fancy something ‘Bordeaux-esque’ in style and we feel this delivers everything lower value Bordeaux doesn’t. The Cabernet Franc is one of the smaller productions of the Oldenburg Vineyards estate with only around 500 cases produced, and always sells through quickly. The 2018 is just entering its drinking window, and will drink beautifully for 5 or more years to come
