The Cadenhead's Ledaig 2008 14-year-old bourbon hogshead bottling is part of the independent bottler's various collections, known for its smoky, maritime character with notes of sweet peat and citrus. This expression is no longer widely available for direct purchase as a standard retail item, and is primarily found through auctions or specialist retailers.

Nose: Reviewers noted an initial impression of Sprite, lemon sherbet, and dry earth, with hints of smoked kippers and a lingering dunnage funk. Other notes include vanilla essence, some grapefruit, and a distinct maritime character with bacon notes.

Palate: The palate offers a solid punch of smoke and warm cinnamon/pepper spice, which can drink "hotter than its ABV" in some expressions. With time, notes of lemonade, marshmallows, seafood bisque, and banana can appear. The mouthfeel is described as having a rich texture with a salty, charred, and coastal profile

Finish: The finish is generally medium to long, with residual sweetness and a hint of peppery spice or a lingering savouriness and ashtray, followed by lasting salt.
