Cask No. 6077 was laid down in October 1966 under the watchful eye of Islay Shaw, Tomintoul's very first distillery manager. This specially commissioned American Oak bourbon cask has yielded only 79 bottles of remarkably rich and complex single malt. This single cask whisky was hand-filled into individually numbered crystal decanters. This is a truly unique and rare bottling from Tomintoul distillery.
Nose: Overlapping aromas of bright stone fruits, almond foam, Danish pastries, honeydew melon and kumquat cushioned with Chantilly cream, pear compote and sweet spices.
Palate : Cooked peach and apricot jam followed by toasted fennel seeds, muscovado sugar and coffee cake, bound with elegant hints of allspice, nutmeg and cedar.
Finish : Lovely and warming with impressions of ginger biscuits, maple pecan pie, dates and mocha, fading into gentle cinnamon and spiced pear.
