A Yorkshire single malt here from the Filey Bay range, initially matured in first-fill bourbon casks before enjoying a stay in peated whisky casks, imparting a subtle whiff of smokiness. Wonderful if you like just a touch of earthy, peaty deliciousness, rather than a big ol' blast of it.
Nose: Earthy peat with fresh malt, leading to notes of lemon shortbread and pecan nut.
Palate: Citrus upfront, followed by banana and malt bread, with a light wisp of smoke.
Finish: Medium length with a ripe, juicy character.
