This colourful bottle is part of The Lakes Whiskymaker's Editions, which sees a departure from the English distillery's usual sherry-led house style. Named Iris, whisky maker Dhavall Gandhi was inspired by a town in the western Himalayas, Gulmarg, which translates as 'meadow of flowers'. No surprise then that this is a particularly floral and tropical fruit-forward affair, with all those flavours amped up.
Nose: Crisp red apples, fragrant honeysuckle, ripe pears, and hints of rose.
Palate: Ripe orchard fruits, almond flakes, and citrus peel.
Finish: Bold and uplifting, with hints of floral and fruity notes.
